Volunteer
Contact GWWC for information about volunteering, internship opportunities, and AmeriCorps opportunities. Areas include,
- GWWC Alternative Spring Beak: see http://groundworkwc.org/projects-programs/groundwork-alternative-spring-break/ for more information.
- Horse Creek Lake revitalization project: clean-ups, trail building/maintenance, species identification, environmental research
- Green Team (youth environmental education): instructing students, preparing and conducting environmental service projects
- WV Sustainable Communities: conduct surveys and inventories on Wyoming County’s use of natural resources, conduct community workshops on sustainable practices
- Fairs and Festivals: representing GWWC at local fairs and festivals
- Stream/litter clean ups and water monitoring: work with GWWC partner, the Upper Guyandotte Watershed Association, to clean and monitor local streams
- Trail Building: work with GWWC partner, the Great Eastern Trail, to build and maintain local trails that make up the Great Eastern Trail
