Groundwork Wyoming County (GWWC) is a nonprofit organization in Wyoming County that is working towards the revitalization of Wyoming County through
- increasing recreational opportunities,
- redeveloping underutilized land and Brownfields,

- developing strategic partnerships,
- and empowering communities and individuals.
Groundwork Wyoming County (GWWC) is part of the Groundwork USA network that consists of 20 Groundwork Trust across the country. GWWC is the first rural trust in the network.
Groundwork USA is funded by both the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and National Park Service (NPS) to establish locally-led Groundwork Trusts that address the issues of brownfields in their communities.
In 2006 the Rural Appalachian Improvement League (RAIL) and the NPS-Rivers, Trails, Con-servation and Assistance Program, began shepherding the process to establish a locally-led Groundwork Wyoming County Trust. The GWWC Steering Committee completed a Feasibility Study and Strategic Plan, “Taking Stock” in 2009. Later that year, GWWC was accepted as a Groundwork Trust and began plans to form into a legitimate 501 (c)3 organization. In 2010, GWWC hired its first Executive Director and became a certified organization in West Virgina.
Today, GWWC works with various local, state, and federal partners to establish programs that improve the physical environment of Wyoming County in order to improve economic, social, and environmental well-being of the County.
